Week 4 treatment of Actinic Keratoses & SCC with 5-FU EFUDIX 5% Fluourouracil

Week 4 treatment of Actinic Keratoses & SCC with 5-FU EFUDIX 5% Fluourouracil. Well, if week 3 was a bitch then week 4 was most definitely a son of a bitch!

Continued issues with tight, scabby, crusting, inflamed, oozing, inflamed skin across the face but more specifically around the t-zone area and to the side of each eye. Bearing in mind the forehead area was started 4 days prior to t-zone area (I stopped whilst trying to work out if the reaction was normal before proceeding) and the t-zone looks worse, there is some hope that the t-zone area will improve over the next 4 days, as the forehead does look a little bit better (not getting my hopes up just yet though).

The two moles on my back causing issues 5 weeks ago were treated with cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen) at that time. Both came off during week 4. Good. The larger mole was quite crusty and an odd colour. The skin underneath this larger mole is still a little bit rough – it may need another does of liquid nitrogen to completely clear it but the LN seems to have done a good job on the surface portion.

Trouble with wearing spectacles continues – bridge of the nose is raw – this could be either, 1) the glasses are putting pressure of the skin around the bridge and causing it to scab or 2) there are Aks on the bridge of the nose and the 5-FU is doing it’s job as expected. Trying to avoid glasses as best I can, which is difficult. Face is extremely tight. Want to scratch my face off with my nails at any moment.
